The full catalog
Buy the BCIN exams you're actually writing.
Ontario runs 16 qualification exams. We've built a verified, citation backed bank for the 15 that candidates sit, and each one is sold on its own, so you can take the two or three your category needs and leave the rest alone.
Why the prices differ
Price follows how central an exam is to the qualification paths, not how many questions its bank happens to hold. General Legal/Process costs $149 because almost every path requires it. The rest are $129 or $109, and the table below prints the verified count for every one so you can see exactly what you are buying.
- Every bank costs less than one attempt at Humber, which is $150
- One payment, no subscription, no expiry
- The exact code article printed under every answer
Writing more than one? Take two or more and every one of them is $99, bought together or added later. The exam chooser works out which ones your category needs and prices them together.
The catalog
Fifteen banks, grouped the way the exams group. Your registration category decides which rows are yours. Add them one at a time or a whole track at once.
- Two full mock exams with every exam you buy, 70 questions each against a 3 hour clock, marked and broken down by topic
- Each one is weighted across every topic, rather than drawn at random, so neither paper leaves out an area and lets you think you are ready for it
- The bank behind them covers the published syllabus section by section, so the parts a paper does not reach are still there to practise

Not sure which rows are yours? QuARTS lists the categories against your registration and those are the final word. The Ministry publishes a free syllabus for every exam, which is the best public description of what each one covers, and our exam selection guide walks the common paths.
What you get inside any one of them
The banks differ in subject matter. Everything else is identical, because what makes them work is the method rather than the topic.
A citation under every answer
Each answer prints its exact provision, so every question doubles as a drill in finding things fast in the compendium you'll carry into the exam.
Two complete papers, Red and Blue
Two full 70 question papers per exam, each against a three hour clock, with a countdown, flagging, a navigator grid and auto submit. Each paper is built to cover every syllabus topic rather than sampled from a pool, so neither paper leaves out an area. Scored by topic so you know where the next session goes.
A 2024 changes module
Every bank flags its own 2024 change questions as a separate drill, 280 across the catalog, targeting renumbered articles, changed definitions and new provisions, which is where older study material fails.
How every question gets verified. Every bank is gated by the same build tool, which refuses to publish anything unverified, and every question carries a report button. Reports get read, and a confirmed error gets fixed and logged.
Choosing between them
Three things decide your list, and price isn't one of them.
Your registration category, not your job title
QuARTS holds the categories registered against your name, and the exams map to those categories. The Ministry's syllabus hub describes the exams but doesn't say which category needs which, so read the two together and confirm before you book a sitting.
The legal exam comes in two versions
General Legal/Process and Designer Legal/Process are separate exams with separate syllabi. Writing the wrong one costs $150 and a booking, and nothing on the registration form will stop you doing it.
Scale first, then discipline
The building exams are scoped by size, from house through small, large and complex. The services exams are scoped by discipline, several with a house scale variant. Match them to the work you actually take on, not the work you hope to.
The exam selection guide goes path by path, and the free quiz scores you by topic if you want to see where you stand before choosing.
Questions about choosing and buying
How many BCIN exams are there in Ontario?
Ontario runs 16 qualification examinations under the Building Code Act, and the Ministry publishes a free syllabus for every one of them. BCINprep covers the 15 that candidates actually sit. The sixteenth, Powers and Duties of a Registered Code Agency, is excluded because we have not built a question bank for it.
How do I know which exams I need?
Your required categories are listed against your registration in QuARTS, and the exam selection guide walks through every qualification path. Almost every path starts with a legal and process exam, then adds the technical categories that match your work. The Ministry's syllabus hub describes what each exam covers but doesn't map exams to registration categories, so confirm your set before you book.
Why is there no all-access price?
Because your registration category decides which exams you can be asked to write, and the ones outside it are worth nothing to you. A tier covering all fifteen would mostly be selling you banks you can't use, at a discount steep enough to make the ones you do need look overpriced. What replaces it is one rule: take two or more exams and every one of them is $99, so a longer list gets cheaper without anybody paying for banks their category never names.
How long does access last, and are updates included?
A bank you buy doesn't expire and there's no renewal. Corrections and updates to it through the 2024 code cycle are included, and they arrive in the same dashboard you already log into.
How current are the question counts?
They're the live totals in each bank, generated from the banks themselves rather than typed by hand, and your dashboard shows the same number before you start a session. Counts only rise.
Can my employer pay for BCIN exam prep?
Yes. Checkout emails a Stripe receipt showing the amount and the date.
Take the exams your category names.
Nothing here is a bundle, so nothing you buy is padding. Most people start with the legal exam and add the technical bank they're sitting next, and any two or more come in at $99 each.
